We have 3 afternoons of Art classes, all focusing on a different medium.
Mondays 4 – 5.30pm Ceramics
Join artist Lauren Van der Hoek and Teffany Thiedeman for some hands on, earthy hand building. This term we will using the tree as inspiration for our clay work, we will look at different forms and decorative techniques. We will then work on our technical skills by learning how to wedge clay & recycle clay. To end the term we will be doing some tile work, focussing on design and texture.
Tuesdays 4 – 5.30pm Painting & Drawing
Develop painting and drawing skills.
Join artist Lauren Van Der Hoek for some skilled painting direction across a range of painting and drawing mediums. This term we will be doing everything Dragon! Think scales, wings, eyes, Dragon caves and treasure halls. We will focus on both the macro (a Dragons den or treasure hall) and the micro (a close up of a Dragons eye? Or perhaps the pattern of its scales).
Thursdays 4 – 5:30pm Mixed Media
A mixed materials art class with Bethany-Ann Barclay.
Start the term with an exploration of the wildly creative art form of dioramas. We will be using a wide range of materials, techniques and tools to create imaginative landscapes in boxes which draw you into their detailed stories, later in the term our stories will move onto paper with illustration as the focus.
