Dear All

We are writing to inform you that the Education Directorate has only offered us a one term licence at Yarralumla Primary School for 2026, with no option for extension.

According to Directorate emails, this is because we missed the cut-off date to accept a 12 month Licence. A procedural error. Actually we missed the cut-off date because we were waiting for a response from the Minister to a dispute about rental conditions including fees/rent, after the Directorate promised to resolve these issues last year.

We have attempted to call and meet with officers from the Directorate since Thursday 8th January, but they have refused to meet or even take our calls until Friday 6th February.

This will leave us with only 8 weeks to sort out whether Aeon Academy has a home at Yarralumla Primary for the rest of 2026.

Due to the tight time frame we are now asking our community to immediately let the Directorate and Minister know that you value the continuity of care from our Educators, the quality of our programs and that you want and expect Aeon Academy to be here for 2026 and beyond continuing to provide excellent care and programs for children and young people.

Please spread this message to everyone who has a connection with Aeon Academy. We’ve been around for over 20 years and are expecting to be here for a decade longer!
