Aeon Academy Celebrated for Innovation
Aeon Academy is proud to announce that Artistic Director Teffany Thiedeman has been awarded for Innovation in Outside School Hours Care by the ACT Pedagogical Leadership Network. Teffany attended the Education and Care Sector Gala in early November to receive the award and rub elbows with some of the most creative and passionate educators in the ACT. Bumper Summer Open Day
We're doing things a little differently for our Summer Open Day! This term, our community and family Open Day event will be hosted at Artistic Director Teffany's vibrant home studio, Hearth. Hearth, at 67 Schlich St., Yarralumla (just across the road from the Yarralumla oval), features a gorgeous garden with beehive, pizza oven, and small menagerie - as well as Teffany's ceramic studio. The Joy of Spring
“Out and about” was the byword of our Spring Vacation Program as we celebrated warmer weather in all of our programs. There were Gardens of Paradise to paint, Elven forests to adventure through, and wild animals to dress up as! Everyone got to enjoy creative escapades and to share such fabulous tales and feasts none of us wished it to end. Don't fret - only 5 weeks till the next Aeon Open Day and a glimpse of Summer's modules and workshops!
Superb Spring Open Day
Saturday August 24th is the launch of the Spring Holiday Program and a chance to grab an amazing 20% discount off the specialised program surcharge if you book on the day! Call in with family and friends any time between 11am and 3pm to collect work from the Winter Holidays, admire art work from after school this term, join in with the Dramatic Adventures interactive story, and enjoy a little hands on activity with clay work, watercolour painting or drawing. Who we are.
Aeon Academy is run by the not-for-profit, cultural organisation Aeon Arts Ltd and works for the wellbeing of the community. Its aim is to deliver an Outside School Hours Education and Care service of the highest quality, and has been doing so for over 20 years.
The Aeon Academy team believes all children are innately gifted and talented and that education is a natural outcome of creativity. Everything we do is about nurturing their creative spark and inspiring them to learn through creativity and play. We strive to support families and recognise that our dedicated and experienced Educators are privileged to be a positive and formative part of your child’s life.
At Aeon Academy your child’s safety and wellbeing come first. Outside school hours education and care is our specialisation and our sole focus. Our engaged and caring leadership team works on site with their fingers on the pulse every day ensuring your child will experience a safe learning environment. Our Educators are supported to have the quality time needed to meaningfully engage with your child.
Choose from a suite of programs to suit your child. Our strong reputation for exceptional programming delivers programs that children love. Our team of highly qualified Educational Leaders and Programming Directors meaningfully tailor programs to meet differing individual and community needs and interests, maximising your child’s engagement and learning. All of our unique Foundation and Specialised Programs promote creative thinking, encourage adaptable approaches to problem solving and open up endless possibilities for your child.
Environmental sustainability is an essential part of our philosophy. We embed sustainability in the day-to-day activities and programming of our Service. We believe in empowering children as active global citizens.
The Aeon Academy experience is akin to being among a caring family. We understand that learning is a lifelong journey and we strive to be an organisation that nurtures that journey; from very young children, to primary students, to teenagers and young people. We are an inclusive organisation that genuinely engages with our community. Our legendary Open Days are fun and free community events, bringing families and children together to enjoy meaningful and memorable experiences.
